Intermediate/Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

My client is an MEP design consultancy looking to add an Intermediate/Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to their busy team of 15 engineers. They provide mechanical and electrical engineering services to a wide range of clients and market sectors including Healthcare & Education. This is an award-winning company that is large enough to provide stability and opportunity, but small enough to recognise its people as individuals.   Responsibilities: A capacity to sketch and develop designs and design briefs dictated by either clients or engineering managers. Having full responsibility for technical and financial decisions taken. These include choice of system, organisation of works, and development of projects, with the ability to comply with time restrictions and limits. Undertake surveys of a building and prepare reports on the mechanical aspects, including capability and compliance with Codes of Practice and Regulations and energy evaluation. Have an understanding of the basic physics and design parameters associated with other disciplines. Have a full and detailed understanding of the physics and design parameters on all aspects of mechanical works, and be able to implement the designs, including energy assessment. Be computer literate and able to assist in the preparation of drawings on CAD and ability to translate requirements to CAD technicians. Be competent in the exercise of independent technical judgement and application of engineering principles, including the application of Standards, Codes of Practice and Regulations. Maintain a proactive attitude to maintaining output to programme and time management Knowledge of British standards, building regulations documents, etc. Able to work without supervision Requirements: A degree qualification - mechanical or building services (Chartered or working towards). An HNC or HND with suitable design experience will also be considered. Client interaction skills. Software design ideally including Microsoft Office, Hevacomp, AutoCAD lexible working is offered with 4 days in the office and 1 day working from home

An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join one of leaders within the building services industry based in Berkshire. Their Building Services team require a Senior Electrical Engineer to take full responsibility for the electrical services and the overall coordination of all services of a wide variety of projects. The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary design team for several clients covering a range of activities from project feasibility through to detailed design and construction support. This exciting role will involve leading teams working on demanding large-scale projects both in the UK and potentially overseas. Working closely with clients, architects and other members of the professional team you will take an active role in establishing the brief, leading the design and developing potential solutions in order to assist in delivering high quality projects in a timely and cost-effective manner. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. Lead, mentor, and manage a team of five property assessors. Review and approve assessment reports prepared by team members. Provide training and development opportunities for the team. Maintain accurate records and documentation of assessments. Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders. Calculate HHSRS hazard categories and ratings and ensure these are reported to the organisation. Undertake pre-and post-inspections of customer delivered improvement works, ensuring that standards and regulations (where applicable) are adhered to. Provide and record property attribute and condition information, ensuring that the businesses' asset management systems are accurately and effectively updated with relevant information. Qualifications: Minimum of two years of experience in conducting EPC surveys. DEA accreditation is not essential but preferred. Proven leadership and team management skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
