Senior Electrical Engineer
Senior Electrical Engineer - Data Centers - To £70K + two days work from home. Tired of getting kicked around by difficult contractors? Frustrated with Architects constantly making last minute changes to your projects? What if there was another way? Working for a consultancy that specialises in data centres means that you'll work on engineering led, and not architecturally led, projects. You'll enjoy working on interesting, complex and resilient buildings and have a lot more ownership and impact on these projects. You'll use your knowledge of electrical building services design to your full potential; as you produce designs, schematics, equipment schedules and specifications. You'll enjoy variety as you'll work on a blend of data centre projects such as upgrades or expansion projects and also hyperscale, data centre campus projects. Key duties Lead concept and detailed design stages on data centre projects. Produce detail design documentation (technical reports and drawings) Produce technical drawings, distribution board schedules, specifications and specialist documentation. Carry out short circuit and protection studies Carry out single point of failure tests Produce arc-flash calculations and reports Respond to technical queries and RFI's Verify subcontractors design, ensure compliance with the client's specifications. Attend client's coordination and progress meetings. Address clients' comments on the final design, prior to handover. Attend relevant industry events such as DCD. Requirements Good all-round knowledge of building services; gained from seeing different projects from concept to construction. Digitally savvy with a range of tools such Revit, Amtech, Bluebeam or ElectricalOM. Able to work in the UK, without any restrictions. Good appreciation of reliance and redundancy, with respect to data centre design. Mechanical Design Engineer
Mechanical (Building Services) Engineer - To £48K Quality of delivery, quality of staff, innovative projects, and a great company culture. These are the founding principles of this multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy based near Liverpool Street. Quality runs deep through the practice, and every project is overseen by a director all the way through the various RIBA stages. They produce quality designs that are low in energy and carbon, are properly coordinated and, actually fit within the space that was allocated by the client. In terms of recruitment, they only employ permanent staff with stable employment histories, as they would prefer to turn work away rather than employing average engineers to just churn out poor quality designs. Innovation exists across everything they do, they analyse every completed project, compare how the building is performing in use, and then use building performance engineering to improve the next project. They also continuously research and invest in new and emerging technologies, in order to make their existing software, processes or templates more efficient. And, they also adopt a bold approach to building design, never shying away from the opportunity of trying something totally new, to solve an issue or overcome a challenge. As an Mechanical Engineer, you'll get involved in designing and modelling a variety of low carbon, interesting buildings such as theatres, museums, galleries, schools, castles, cinemas, offices, churches, universities, and data centres. You'll work as part of a friendly, experienced, and supportive team of around 30 engineers on one off projects, typically from concept all the way through to construction. You will attend design team and site meetings, and liaise directly with clients, architects, and specialist external consultants. You will also carry out heating and cooling loads, size plants, ducts, or pipes, use Revit MEP to produce 3D models, and also ensure all projects adhere to CIBSE guidelines, British standards and also promote a circular economy. Requirements At least two years' experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer, Previous experience working directly with Architects. Comfortable communicating technical terms, to a non-technical audience. Easy to work with, able to work as part of a team.

Senior Electrical Engineer - To £65K + Package - Data Centres As a recognised global expert in the design of data centres, this MEP Design Consultancy is continuing to experience steady growth across their London, European and Dubai offices. Having recently moved to a new HQ in London, they are looking for a Senior Electrical (Building Services) Design Engineer who enjoys working on data centre or other mission critical projects such as labs, clean rooms or life sciences projects. Reporting to the Electrical Associate and supported by a Principal Electrical Engineer when required, you'll use your initiative and experience to design and deliver projects through RIBA Stages 1-4. As a medium sized practice, they have created a culture where individuals can thrive and achieve their full potential. They operate a flat management structure and have always promoted people based on merit and ability. Here, you won't get bogged down with unnecessary red tape or office politics. You'll be given autonomy for leading projects; developing your own client relationships and nurturing the electrical team. Requirements Degree qualified in a suitable Engineering field. Ideally at least five years' experience within the building services industry. Current experience with Data Centre; or other mission critical projects. Able to produce technical specifications, concept and detail designs, drawings, equipment schedules and written reports. Previous site experience, conducting site surveys or witnessing the installation or commissioning of Electrical systems. Able to assist the Director or Associate with fee proposals, resource allocation and nurturing less experienced engineers. Good communication skills; and able to work as part of a team.
