Principal Mechanical Building Services Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our team at a leading building services engineering design consultancy. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mechanical engineering within the building services sector, with a strong emphasis on healthcare projects. Exceptional communication skills are essential.Key Responsibilities: Project Leadership: Lead and manage complex mechanical engineering projects, particularly within healthcare facilities. Oversee all phases of project development, from initial concept through detailed design, construction, and commissioning. Design & Development: Develop and implement advanced mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, medical gas systems, and fire protection systems. Ensure designs are optimised for energy efficiency, sustainability, and compliance with HTM (Health Technical Memoranda) standards and other relevant regulations. Rather than only looking after the HVAC design, here you'll also be involved in Public Health, Building Physics and design straight into Revit. All their Engineers use a variety of tools ranging from hand sketches to 3D models to help turn their clients dreams, into realities. Based from their office in South London, you'll join a team of around 20 creative M&E Engineers who provide holistic, sustainable engineering solutions. Based in the heart of Edinburgh, just a short walk from either Edinburgh Haymarket or Waverley stations; their office environment is unique. Partners and Directors share the same space as the engineers; and it really is a one team mentality. Their Electrical Building Services team is led by a supportive, friendly, and hands-on Director with over 10 years at the practice. Always approachable and ready to help, they also empower you with the freedom to use your own initiative and drive projects forward. With around 30 MEP Design Engineers in their Edinburgh office, you'll also have easy access to Principals, Seniors and Engineers. Plus, you'll also have a Graduate or a Junior to also assist you with calculations and drawings etc. You'll be involved in a diverse range of projects such as distilleries, castles, universities and schools, industrial and cultural buildings. Not the boring copy and paste type projects but rather projects that require precision engineering, out of the box thinking and good coordination skills.
