Your new role Ensuring an understanding of project briefs. Design and specification of all Electrical Building Services systems . Design and specification of all Electrical Building Services systems - power, earthing, lighting, life safety, telecoms, security, access control, lifts, lightning protection etc. Carry out (and managing of others), in the production of detailed calculations using industry standard software tools including Excel, Dialux, Amtech, in-house developed tools, etc. Representing the organization at meetings with clients and contractors. Site surveys, inspections and monitoring of site works. Report and technical note writing. Maintaining complete records and archives to company standards. Adherence to all quality, environmental and governance processes. What you'll need to succeed Degree qualified, or equivalent qualification, in Building Services Engineering / Electrical Engineering or related subjects. At least 5 years of experience in electrical design engineering on Building Services projects. Strong knowledge of electrical systems and building codes. Experience working in a design consultancy and/or experience of working within a contractor design environment is essential. Have a detailed knowledge of appropriate technical standards. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. The ability to work independently and as part of a team. Senior Sustainability Engineer

Your new company A London-based Engineering Consultancy, working on a variety of projects from small individual houses all the way up to large mixed use schemes, the business is thriving, and this role is a direct result of the additional work awarded. With a healthy split across both private and public sector clients, recent projects include commercial, social housing, schools, universities, prisons, healthcare and more. What you'll need to succeed The ideal candidate will have the below experience:- Have at least 4 years plus experience in a similar role. Generate dynamic thermal models (using IESVE software) and perform comfort analysis, natural ventilation air-flow modelling, Building Regulations Part L assessments, and Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) etc. Non-domestic energy assessor (or equivalent) certification preferred but not essential. Experience with ApacheHVAC/detailed HVAC systems modelling. Provide supporting evidence for BREEAM credits that require output from thermal models such as, thermal comfort, energy and carbon reduction, potential for natural ventilation, energy monitoring, low carbon design options and so forth. Prepare Low and Zero Carbon (LZC) technology feasibility studies. Prepare Energy Assessments/Energy Strategy documentation for supporting pre-app and full planning application for Local Authority approval. Ability to assist in providing strategic low energy design advice. Undertake energy audits for both simple building forms and more complex multiple building portfolios. Work with mechanical and electrical engineering colleagues providing support for client deliverables. Be able to read and understand the clients' briefs and identify the requirements relevant to your role. Very good written and verbal communication skills for both internal and external communications. The ability to prepare written reports of findings and present these in client-facing workshops. Strong interest in the importance of sustainability and of willingness to take the opportunity of developing the role to support the companies' strategic growth within this sector. It has all come from good repeat business with well-serviced clients over a number of years. They are best known for their work within the healthcare sector but also get a range of projects, including residential and commercial projects as well. Your new role It is as a Senior Electrical Engineer that can carry out engineering design, the management of projects and small teams, working on multiple projects including multi-million pound schemes. You will support the directors by developing standards within the company, taking the lead in managing projects utilising your experience. You will act as design lead on projects, promoting design excellence, and you will mentor and develop the skills of the engineers in the team. What you'll need to succeed You will have a strong technical core competence and background in project delivery. In addition, you will have a broad understanding of the principles of building services and other related building design disciplines and a desire to mentor and lead a team of Engineers. You must also be- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering/Building Services. Proven experience (6+ years) in electrical engineering design within the building services industry. Healthcare experience would be ideal but not essential. Experience leading and developing senior and more junior engineers. Comfortable in a client-facing role and willing to contribute to business development activities. Experience leading teams on large-scale and often complex projects. Experience in the delivery of all phases of a project from inception to completion, but specifically, design and quality control focused and dealing directly with the customer and project teams. Experience and awareness of major digital engineering tools, such as CAD/Revit, and Amtech. You will also have experience of delivering projects in a BIM environment.
