Senior Electrical Engineer

The Company: Inter disciplinary construction consultancy established for 60 years with 6 UK offices servicing projects across a variety of sectors up to £40m in value and an impressive portfolio of blue chip clients. The Role: Lead building services design projects within a multidisciplinary team. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers. Collaborating with other disciplines to deliver complete scheme designs. Take ownership of resolving technical challenges and troubleshooting issues that arise. Stay up to date of advancements in building services technology and industry trends, applying knowledge to drive continuous improvement in design methodologies and processes. Duties: Proficient in undertaking design work through all RIBA Stages including feasibility report, concept designs, spatial coordination, detailed design, construction monitoring, and handover. Ensuring compliance with UK building regulations, codes, and standards. Provide expertise in selecting and specifying mechanical equipment, materials and components, considering factors like performance, cost, and sustainability goals. Delivering or inputting into decarbonisation, sustainability and net-zero carbon strategies. Skills and requirements: Accredited Building Services degree and significant experience in a similar role. Working towards IEng of CEng with CIBSE, IET or IMechE. Ability to work using their own initiative with minimal supervision on all technical aspects of the role. Excellent communication with ability to articulate complicated issues to clients and stakeholders. Ability to inspire confidence both internally and externally, and then use this to strengthen client relationships. Ambition and willingness to learn while demonstrating a high level of diligence and organisational skills. Strong working knowledge of British Standards, codes of practice and relevant design guidance and standards. Software experience: - AutoCAD, Revit, Dialux/Relux, Trimble Pro-Design, Bluebeam Knowledge of: Electrical systems design: LV distribution, small power, general and emergency lighting, containment, fire detection and alarm, security detection and alarm, access control, CCTV and lightning protection. Electrical design calculations: cable sizing and lighting calculations. Building codes and standards. Energy efficiency and sustainability. Construction materials and methods. Risk assessment and mitigation strategies.

Energy Project Manager (Belfast) NIHE

Based from their Belfast office within their Asset Strategy department. This organisation has more than 85,000 properties and employs 3,000 members of staff throughout NI. Your new role This is a temporary contract position for an initial contract duration of c.9-12 months.You will report to the Technical Innovation Manager with the responsibility of supporting and contributing to the development of their strategic and evidence-led approach to decarbonising energy use in the Housing Executive's social rented and other NI homes, along with supporting the delivery of pilot and demonstration projects. Some of the key responsibilities will include: Analysing written research material and data participating in developing, preparing, managing, and conducting structured data analysis, research, or testing proposals and installations around energy, carbon emissions, fuel poverty, sustainability, and innovation, to drive continuous improvement within Asset Management. Regulatory requirements in relation to construction projects particularly for physical installations, materials etc. Experience in data processing and data analytics, drawing actionable conclusions from large datasets, or programming of computer software, Apps, or advanced logic controls. This position offers an immediate start with weekly payment via BACS transfer with all business mileage expenses being reimbursed at 45p per mile.
