Interim Electrical Project Engineer

Your new company A south London local authority is seeking an experienced Interim Electrical Project Engineer to join their dynamic Design Service Team. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of the Principal Engineer within the Design Service Team, contributing to a variety of exciting projects aimed at enhancing the borough's infrastructure. The Design Service Team is dedicated to delivering high-quality design and engineering solutions for the borough. The team specialises in the planning, development, and implementation of projects that improve public spaces, buildings, and facilities. They focus on sustainable and innovative design practices to ensure that projects meet the needs of the community while adhering to environmental standards. Your new role Assist the Principal Engineer in the design, development, and management of electrical projects. Conduct detailed calculations and analyses to establish standards and specifications. Develop potential designs and oversee project activities to ensure timely completion and adherence to design specifications. Inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure compliance with safety standards. Collaborate with team members, contractors, and clients to coordinate project details. Prepare and present technical reports and project documentation. What you'll need to succeed Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. Previous project management experience is recommended. Relevant licenses and certifications may be required (e.g. CIBSE, IMET) Several years of experience working in the engineering field. Strong leadership, organisational, and time management skills. Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities. Familiarity with project management methodologies and electrical engineering principles. What you'll get in return You will receive a daily rate of up to £250 per day Umbrella on a rolling contract. Working Monday to Friday 7.2 hours per day. Working from office 1 DAY A WEEK with site visits as and when needed. Electrical Design Engineer

Electrical Design Engineer - Up to £75K CAT A & CAT B Fit-Outs | Hybrid Working | Autonomy + Support When it comes to fast-track CAT A and CAT B commercial office fit-outs, you're either cut out for it, or you're not. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy the challenge of transforming spaces, and want the freedom to run with your own ideas (while still having support when you need it), this one's for you. You'll be joining a leading D&B Contractor that delivers exceptional commercial workspaces across London and the South East. They're small enough that your input makes a difference, but established enough to punch well above their weight. They're progressive in their mindset, encouraging flexible, hybrid working. So, you won't be chained to a desk or stuck on-site five days a week. Expect one to two days working from home each week. You'll work closely with contracts managers and the pre-construction team, owning the electrical design across CAT A & CAT B commercial office projects, typically managing 2-3 live jobs at a time. Key Responsibilities: Produce and manage scaled drawings using AutoCAD. Carry out load assessments and create detailed load schedules. Complete cable calculations and develop cable/distribution board schedules. Use Dialux, Relux, or manufacturer software for lighting/emergency lighting designs. Deliver fully coordinated installation-ready working drawings. Ensure compliance with BS 7671 regulations. Collaborate with contracts managers from pre-construction through to project handover. What You'll Need: Strong experience as an Electrical Design Engineer on CAT A & B commercial office projects. Solid skills in AutoCAD and electrical design software (e.g. Trimble, Amtech). Confident using Dialux or Relux for lighting design. Good understanding of BS 7671 and industry regulations. Ability to manage multiple projects independently while working well in a team. Organised, detail-oriented, and able to thrive under pressure.
