Electrical Design Engineer
Electrical Design Engineer - To £60K + Package Working closely with the two Chartered, Electrical Associates you'll benefit from working on a diverse range of projects from concept to construction. Although they are a small to medium sized Building Services Consultancy, most of their employees (including the Directors) have come from much larger practices such as Arup, Mott McDonald, Waterman, and WSP. Your new role You will be responsible for the management and procurement of energy and utility contracts, for implementing the strategy for our Solar PV and Electric Vehicle Charging portfolios, project management and monitoring of the environmental data systems. You will lead on the provision of in-depth advice on strategic, financial and operational issues driving investments in energy across power and utilities. Lead on data provision to facilitate mapping and scenario-modelling for opportunities within Renewables, EV charging and climate risk. Development and implementation of databases, data analytics and other strategies for energy management to ensure accurate billing. What you'll need to succeed You will have worked in an Energy and Utilities-based role previously. Training courses are available, but at this level, previous experience in a similar role is essential. You will need to have up-to-date knowledge of government policy and legislation in regard to energy, utilities and renewables. A background in data and analytics would be useful, as is experience of using relevant software. You will need great stakeholder engagement with people of all levels and backgrounds due to the nature of the work. This is a crucial role for the organisation, so we will be reporting to Directors as well as interacting with communities and support teams. Senior Engineer
Your new company Your new company has over 75 years of engineering experience and is a household name in the world of engineering design and has city centre offices across the UK, Europe and Australia. Their Manchester office (M2 postcode) is located next to public transport hubs and close to off-street car parking. Your new company is currently working on a shed load of commercial, education, health and residential schemes across the UK. Although you'll be joining a company that turns over £130m, the MEP team in Manchester is moderately sized with 8 staff across M&E who work 37.5 hours per week across the above-mentioned sectors. Your new role Your new role will see you working as a Senior Electrical Building Services Engineer, completing conceptual and detailed design using DIALux, RELux, AMtech, AutoCAD or Revit. You will be based in Manchester city centre. However, your projects will be across the UK. You will be interacting with internal and external stakeholders, attending client meetings and site visits. This role, although involving a heavy design aspect, is for someone who enjoys the full process of consultancy: design, client-facing, stakeholder management, and costing.
