Principal / Associate Electrical Design Engineer
Principal or Associate Electrical Engineer Location: Dorset or Berkshire to suit candidate Salary Range: £55,000 to £70,000 About the Role: My client, an award-winning engineering consultancy, is seeking a Principal or Associate Electrical Engineer to join their team in either Bournemouth or Reading. This role involves supporting and delivering designs for a range of project types and sizes within a multidisciplinary team. Key Responsibilities: Technical delivery of electrical design services for multi-disciplinary projects including office space, commercial, healthcare, residential and mission-critical. Development of initial strategic concepts ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Regular interaction with internal and external stakeholders. Attendance at project meetings and translating briefs within the project team. Monitoring fee expenditure, resources, and work delivered. Mentoring and supporting apprentices and graduates. About You: Proven experience as an Electrical Design Engineer Familiarity with modern technical delivery processes and relevant software/tools (BIM, Revit, Electrical OM, Dialux, Relux). Experience working with clients, contractors, and architects in a design-oriented role. Self-awareness and open-mindedness Ability to support others in developing their knowledge, skills, and confidence. This role involves promoting sustainable development for a range of projects across all sectors and leading the development of energy strategies. It combines leadership and hands-on responsibilities. Key Responsibilities: Take ownership and lead projects with industry-leading clients. Lead energy workshops with the client and design team. Undertake a range of modelling and analysis, including performance simulation, operational energy use, energy generation, and overheating. Support the drive towards realising net-zero whole-life carbon in projects. Manage and prioritise the workload of a project team. Report resourcing requirements to the project lead team. Contribute to the development of junior team members. Delegate, manage, and review work undertaken by others. Engage in research and development initiatives to stay at the cutting edge of industry knowledge. About You: 5 to 10 years' experience within consultancy, looking for a new challenge. Job Title: General Foreman Location: Melksham Salary: £37 per hour Negotiable Contract Type: 6 Months Start Date: 06/05/2025 About the Role: We are currently seeking a proactive and experienced General Foreman to take responsibility for daily site activities and support the Site Supervisor in delivering a safe, compliant, and efficient worksite. You will play a key role in ensuring all operations meet health, safety, environmental, and quality standards, while maintaining programme schedules and site documentation. Key Responsibilities: Assist the Site Supervisor in the management and oversight of site operations. Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) standards. Coordinate daily work activities, plant, and labour in line with project requirements. Monitor works to ensure adherence to programme timelines and quality expectations. Manage and document material deliveries and usage in line with our client and National Grid policies. Maintain accurate site records, reports, and compliance documentation. Lead by example and promote a strong health and safety culture across the site. Liaise effectively with subcontractors, suppliers, and the wider site team. Required Qualifications & Experience: SSSTS Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (minimum requirement). Authorised as a National Grid Competent Person (CP) . Valid CSCS or CPCS card . Completion of 2-day HSG47 (Avoiding Danger from Underground Services) training. Valid 3-day First Aid qualification. Previous experience in a similar General Foreman/Site Foreman role. Experience on National Grid or major infrastructure projects is highly desirable. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical documentation.
