Project Architect

Hays is delighted to have partnered with one of Scotland's leading and award-winning architectural practices; they are looking for a talented project architect to join their ever-expanding team, where their employees are valued and people are at the heart of their business. You will be joining a well-established consultancy, founded over 110 years ago with offices in Glasgow and London. Highly specialised, they are experts in the delivery of advanced education, science and health projects. As a result of this specialisation and their strong return client base, the practice offers a high level of security in their workload and makes a committed investment in their team. Your first project will be a £30 million higher education development for one of the practice's consistent clients, which is currently going to RIBA stage 2. As a Project Architect, you will be required to: Carry projects through from concept to completion. Use CAD to produce architectural designs. Liaise with contractors and clients where necessary. Display a high level of understanding of education, health or science design principles. Display a high level of understanding of the holistic build cycle. Produce technical drawings with autonomy. To be considered for this role, it is essential that you: Are highly proficient with AutoCAD. Have RIBA/ARB chartership. Have good experience in either the education, health or science sectors. Have experience working on big budget projects. Have experience job-running projects Have experience working in a fast-paced background. Interim Gas Manager

Your new company Based in south London and considered one of the most improved boroughs, this council has a wide range of housing stock that is managed and overseen by a team of property subject-matter experts supported by a great compliance team and corporate health and safety team. You will be based a 7-minute walk from a main train station with links to London and the south coast. Your new role You will act as the responsible person for gas-related works and oversee the gas contract to ensure that all statutory requirements are met and that council standards are also adhered too. As the Gas Manager, you will monitor the KPI's of contractors, ensuring regular pre-and post inspections are completed, along with detailed technical reports that can and will be shared within the council. You will advise and update key stakeholders both internally and externally to ensure that everyone is aware of the latest work. What you'll need to succeed You will need a strong background in Gas Management within housing from a client-side perspective. You must have extensive contract management experience, including tendering, contract administration and have strong technical knowledge. As this is a technical role, you must hold your domestic ACS. Commercial is desired but not required. What you'll get in return You will be offered a 3-month rolling contract offering a rate of £400 per day UMBRELLA, with 3 days working from office and two days working from home. A permit to park on council sites and mileage covered when travelling between sites. Senior Electrical Engineer - To £70K + Package - Data Centres As a recognised global expert in the design of data centres, this MEP Design Consultancy is continuing to experience steady growth across their London, European and Dubai offices. Having recently moved to a new HQ in London, they are looking for a Senior Electrical (Building Services) Design Engineer who enjoys working on data centre or other mission critical projects such as labs, clean rooms or life sciences projects. Reporting to the Electrical Associate and supported by a Principal Electrical Engineer when required, you'll use your initiative and experience to design and deliver projects through RIBA Stages 1-4. As a medium sized practice, they have created a culture where individuals can thrive and achieve their full potential. They operate a flat management structure and have always promoted people based on merit and ability. Here, you won't get bogged down with unnecessary red tape or office politics. You'll be given autonomy for leading projects; developing your own client relationships and nurturing the electrical team. Requirements Degree qualified in a suitable Engineering field. Ideally at least four years' experience within the building services industry. Current experience with Data Centre; or other mission critical projects. Able to produce technical specifications, concept and detail designs, drawings, equipment schedules and written reports. Previous site experience, conducting site surveys or witnessing the installation or commissioning of Electrical systems. Able to assist the Director or Associate with fee proposals, resource allocation and nurturing less experienced engineers. Good communication skills; and able to work as part of a team.
