Senior Electrical Engineer

The Facilities Management team plays a crucial role in ensuring the electrical assets of the estate are maintained to high standards. Your new role As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for electrical maintenance, infrastructure, and minor projects. Your duties will include designing electrical specifications, preparing tender documents, managing contractors, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. You will also coordinate project maintenance activities and manage both revenue and capital expenditure planned maintenance activities. What you'll need to succeed Previous experience in electrical services repair and maintenance. Ability to design electrical installations and produce tender documentation. Competence in high and low voltage electrical installation design. Experience in managing people and leading a technical team. IT literacy, including familiarity with Excel, Word, and hand-held tablets. A recognised City & Guilds Qualification in Electrical Engineering Apprenticeship and a minimum HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering. Mechanical Design Engineer

Role: This role requires a specialist pharmaceutical/life sciences Senior Mechanical Engineer, to spearhead energy efficiency projects and be the go-to person for design advice and lead projects. As the industry experiences greater regulations on the manufacturing process, the team are seeking an individual to bring experience on how to deliver and manage technical projects to support the growth of the business. The main responsibilities in this role will be to be ensure high quality delivery of energy-focused global pharmaceutical and life sciences HVAC engineering solutions, while also guiding others to ensure that design deliverables meet consistent standards and best practice. There will not be any direct line management responsibility for this role. The person in this role will act as a subject matter expert guiding the engineering team on process, quality and technical delivery. They also work closely with the senior leadership and sales teams growing the business and leading on consultative technical discussions with both new and existing clients. Responsibilities: Technical Leadership & Delivery (80% of the role): Most of the time will be working in the capacity of a consultant both externally and internally, influencing design and recommendations, representing best practice and promoting technical excellence in HVAC design and build within the pharmaceutical and life sciences industry and within the team. Understanding client needs, formulating innovative solutions, and presenting technical information logically and compellingly. Sharing demonstrable knowledge (such as recent used/test cases) both on build and design on a regular basis with the team. Developing bespoke solutions and innovative designs to meet client needs aligning with cutting-edge technical approaches. Facilitating & providing technical expertise on Energy Kaizen Leadership and HVAC systems. Reporting on engineering KPIs by reviewing the data collection phases and quality of the technical work. Applying expertise in engineering complex GMP compliant HVAC systems for building services. Leading stakeholder discussions with clients on the technical delivery and progress. Working on client site to facilitate projects (both nationally and internationally). Working closely with the Engineering Manager to develop the technical expertise. Supporting the Business's ISO 9001 status for consistent quality delivery. Business Operations (10% of the role): Working closely and collaborating with the senior leadership team, operations team, and sales team to ensure effective operations to support current and future client engagements, by helping to develop project resources. Senior Mechanical Engineer
Client: Innovative, ambitious and rapidly expanding technical asset management consultancy specialising in making existing buildings sustainable. They help landlords and property managers map risk, plan for, and transition portfolios of buildings to net zero carbon as cost effectively as possible. They do this through a unique approach that combines building services engineering with dynamic simulation modelling, energy engineering, and their bespoke data analysis software. They work with blue chip investment funds and property companies. The company currently supports the management of over 1 million m 2 of predominantly commercial real estate assets and employs more than 20 staff. Their head office is in Shrewsbury, Shropshire and they adopt a hybrid working environment where employees work flexibly, travelling across the UK to visit buildings. Role: As part of their continuing growth strategy, they are looking to appoint a Senior Building Services Design Engineer, with a strong mechanical bias, to help support their comprehensive range of services for building owners. The role will include the responsibility to deliver the building services designs for principally refurbishment projects, with an emphasis on net zero carbon transition. Additionally, it offers the opportunity to innovate on existing industry processes and help shape our own unique software to support this. With a bias towards mechanical engineering, the successful applicant will have experience in the design of HVAC systems alongside a good general working knowledge of building services within the commercial property sector. They are ideally looking for candidates who are members of either the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE), Institution of Mechanical Engineering (IMechE) or Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET). Making sure that all building services meet health and safety (CDM) and environmental legislation requirements Negotiating contracts with clients The right candidate must have the following essential skills: An engineering degree and a minimum of 5 years of engineering experience or a non-cognate graduate with a minimum of 5 years of engineering experience and recognised engineering accreditations (such as CIBSE LCC/LCEA etc.) Membership of CIBSE, IMechE or IET Strong mechanical engineering knowledge AutoCAD M&E An understanding of UK construction contracts and processes An aspiration to deliver engineering excellence with a focus on sustainability within design Strong communication skills, including written and verbal communication.
