BIM/Design Manager (MEP)

Your new role The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the mechanical and electrical CDP and coordination phases for a high-profile project. Your technical expertise will ensure adherence to industry standards and client requirements, while also driving innovation and adding value to building services. Oversee the mechanical and electrical building services (MEP) CDP and coordination process. Lead and direct the BIM team. Collaborate with MEP engineers, the supply chain, and the wider project team to achieve objectives and meet deadlines. Develop cost-effective, creative technical solutions. Enhance project value while prioritising sustainability and efficiency. Provide expert technical guidance. Evaluate design options and address challenges. Ensure smooth and efficient project delivery. Facilitate CDP and coordination workshops/meetings. Maintain strong relationships with the construction team. Monitor progress against the design programme. Implement action plans to meet project milestones. Mentor and guide team members. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and knowledge sharing. What you'll need to succeed Proven experience as a BIM Manager or Design Manager (e.g., BIM Coordinator, M&E Design Engineer, Building Services Manager), ideally managing projects worth £5-30 million and leading multidisciplinary teams. Proficient in BIM software such as Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and other relevant tools. Minimum Level 4 qualification (ONC/NVQ4) or equivalent; a degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Building Services preferred, with MCIOB accreditation desirable. Positive, adaptable, and proactive, focused on delivering innovative, risk-free design solutions. Exceptional leadership and communication skills, effectively engaging and collaborating with all stakeholders, including customers. Comprehensive understanding of statutory and regulatory requirements for MEP/HVAC design. Strong attention to detail, capable of analysing complex information and ensuring designs meet specifications and cost plans. Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer - dayshift
I am assisting a large Manufacturing Engineering client of mine with the process of securing a Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer for their Glasgow operation, who has CNC maintenance of machinery experience. The Company This engineering company is an innovative company, manufacturing critical precision components to exacting quality standards for the aerospace industry. The Role They are currently looking for an experienced CNC Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, to join our team based in Glasgow. The role is predominantly a Monday to Friday day-based role with some out-of-hours work required to meet business needs. The successful candidate will be required to maintain plant, machinery and ancillary equipment to the highest possible standards, efficiently and safely, and in line with the company health & safety, energy and environmental standards. Role Description -Carry out Preventative Maintenance services to minimise downtime and maximise machine efficiency. This includes ordering and organising and storing of parts relative to all maintenance work, i.e., Reactive Breakdowns, Machine Services and Project Work. -Assist with machine installation, relocation and decommissioning projects. -Repair/maintain CNC machinery in both reactive as well as a planned-out manner, to ensure optimum production capacity at all times. -Ensure that any unresolved technical problems are escalated to the Maintenance Manager in a timely fashion. -Repair/maintain ancillary equipment in line with company requirements, ensuring optimum operation at all times. -Assist with production facility improvements, as required. -Maintain a detailed knowledge of all equipment within the plant and facilities, keep abreast of any additions to the plant and improve updates to machinery. -Input all data and continually update the Production Control System and Asset Manager on PC. -Ensure all plant and machinery are kept in good working order, good housekeeping standards are maintained and assist with the smooth & efficient installation of new plant and machinery. -Where possible, suggest ways of improving methods and processes. Essential Qualifications and Experience -Proven background of knowledge and experience of CNC lathes, CNC Mills & 5-axix CNC machinery in a machine environment. This includes relevant qualifications and Apprenticeship. -Comfortable working on both electrical and mechanical maintenance. -Conversant/fluent in Engineering and Schematic drawings. -Be an effective and confident communicator. -Computer literate. -Able to work overtime if required and when required, to suit the needs of the business. -Be a self-starter and maximise personal effectiveness by way of continuous improvement. Desirable Qualities & Experience -Aerospace/Automotive environment experience. -Knowledge & working experience of the following CNC manufacturers: DMG/Mori Seiki, Makino, Doosan, Grob, XYZ, Okuma or Mazak. -Core knowledge of FANUC or Siemens control systems. Disrepair Surveyor
Job Title: Disrepair Building Surveyor Location: YeovilHybrid: Working Job Purpose: The Disrepair Building Surveyor is responsible for managing and progressing repairs on disrepair claims through to completion. This role involves conducting pre-work surveys, reviewing expert reports, and creating job specifications for necessary repairs. The surveyor ensures that all work is completed in a timely and effective manner to prevent unnecessary financial loss and to maintain the quality of housing stock. Key Responsibilities: Conduct pre-inspections and building surveys to identify defects and prepare detailed reports and specifications. Review expert reports and disrepair letters of claim. Create job specifications using Schedule of Rates (SOR) codes for repairs to be carried out by contractors. Monitor and liaise with repair contractors to ensure timely and effective completion of works. Provide technical expertise and advice to staff and stakeholders regarding cost-effective repairs and maintenance. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including Section 11 and Environmental Protection Act claims. Conduct post-inspections to ensure the quality and completeness of repair works. Collaborate with Disrepair Case Officers and other departments to ensure seamless service delivery. Apply safeguarding principles when visiting residents' homes, reporting any concerns about vulnerable residents to appropriate authorities. Key Skills and Qualifications: Degree in Building Surveying or a related field. Professional membership with RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) or equivalent proffered not essential. Extensive experience in building surveying, particularly in managing disrepair, damp & mould, repair projects. Strong knowledge of building construction, defects diagnosis, and repair techniques. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and work under pressure. Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for surveying and reporting.
