Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer – London  Up to £45k per annum, with bonus and hybrid working policy that is flexible.   A rapidly growing, outcomes-focused MEP engineering consultancy is seeking an Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer with a year or two of experience to contribute to technically challenging projects and assist in the ongoing development and success of the business.  Location: Farringdon, London (Hybrid working model with flexibility based on project needs)  About the Role:  As an Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer, the successful candidate will assist in mechanical engineering design for building services across a range of projects. They will provide technical, design, and contract management support to ensure that client specifications and project requirements are met. The role also offers the opportunity to develop technical expertise while working closely with senior engineers and mentoring junior engineers.  This position provides a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious engineer who enjoys working on diverse projects and is looking for a supportive and dynamic team environment where they can grow professionally.  Key Responsibilities:  Assist in the mechanical design and engineering for projects, supporting senior engineers in delivering technical solutions from concept through to completion.  Support the preparation and compilation of specifications, drawings, and contract documentation in line with relevant codes, standards, regulations, and procedures.  Liaise with clients, contractors, and design teams to support the successful delivery of projects.  Provide support in delivering mechanical building services designs and ensure all work complies with project and client requirements.  Assist in monitoring and managing scope and schedule changes, ensuring change control processes are followed and that projects stay on track.  Offer technical support to junior engineers, helping to foster a collaborative team environment.  Work on a variety of projects, from small-scale to large, across sectors such as residential, commercial, and more.  The Ideal Candidate Will Have:  A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.  1–2 years of experience in an engineering consultancy, working on multi-residential, commercial, or similar projects. Exposure to both contractor and client-side environments (desirable).  Familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD, and environmental design software (e.g., IES, Hevacomp).  A solid technical understanding of Mechanical Building Services Engineering and the ability to integrate with other disciplines like acoustics and fire engineering.  Strong communication skills, with the ability to work well in a team and support project delivery.  Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., CIBSE, IMechE) and progress towards Chartered Engineer status (or already chartered).  Why Join Them?  Joining this consultancy offers an opportunity to take ownership of one’s career and work in a supportive, growth-focused environment.
