Principal Mechanical Engineer
Due to growth, they are now looking for a Principal Mechanical Engineer for their London studio. Someone who can lead projects and inspire technically, commercially, and culturally. What You'll Be Doing: Leading mechanical design across a variety of commercial office fit-outs, schools, theaters, residential buildings, hotels, and major decarbonization schemes. Managing major projects from early stage through to delivery on site (RIBA Stages 2-6). Supporting and mentoring engineers from Graduate to Senior level. Collaborating closely with their Electrical, PH, and Sustainability teams to deliver considered, coordinated design solutions. Driving innovation, everything from developing new tools to workflow improvements, with full IP ownership and support. Using Revit, H2X, and Bluebeam to develop and review technical content. Who you are An experienced Senior or Principal Mechanical Engineer, ideally with experience in consultancy. Ambitious, self-driven, and passionate about mentoring others. Managing the day-to-day workload of engineers and technicians. Prepare technical calculations, reports, designs, drawings and specifications. Monitor the financial performance of projects as well as setting up and managing administrative systems, project resource planning, expenditure and WIP management. Undertake project technical/quality reviews and attend design reviews/team meetings as needed for the smooth operation of the project(s). Ideal Candidate Profile: Proven experience as a Mechanical Associate or Associate Director in building services. Strong technical background in mechanical systems design and delivery. Chartered Engineer status and a degree in a relevant engineering discipline. Demonstrated leadership on large-scale, complex projects. Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
