Electrical Design Engineer

Your new company We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established company with over 50 years of experience in the Building Services sector. Your new role As an Electrical Building Services Engineer, you will be responsible for: Working on a wide variety of construction projects throughout the UK. Preparing designs, calculations, specifications, and tender documentation for electrical services as part of a project team. Understanding regulations and standards and keeping up to date with future changes. Coordinating with other disciplines and specialists. Undertaking feasibility studies. Preparing detailed budget costs and defined estimates if required. Delivering regulatory obligations associated with Building Regulations Part L and BREEAM. Working with mechanical/energy/Part L engineers to derive low energy design solutions. Attending design team and project meetings on behalf of the company. Preparing specifications, equipment schedules, drawings, and information to installation and fully coordinated standards (RIBA Stage 5). Undertaking site quality and legislative inspections and preparing associated reports. Delivering exceptional technical and commercial solutions. Preparing technical reports, specifications, contract documents, etc. Liaising directly with clients and contractors. What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you should have: Experience in electrical building services design (including emergency lighting and fire alarm design). Knowledge and understanding of BS7671. Hands-on knowledge of AutoCAD, Dialux, Relux, Amtech, and/or Hevacomp. Design consultant or contractor background. Experience in general electrical building engineering services. Team player with the ability to operate at an individual level. Good experience in electrical detail design and performance design. Confident and outgoing personality, able to be client-facing and build relationships with our valued client database. Desirable Skills and Experience Experience in using Revit MED or Magicad. Member of IET or CIBSE or working towards this. Good organisational and time management skills, able to manage projects, outputs, and work within deadlines. Experience in the building services design environment. SAP and/or SBEM experience and LZC reporting would be advantageous.
