Estates Surveyor - Herefordshire Council

Your new role As an Estates Surveyor, you will play a critical role in the management of the council's property portfolio. Working with the estates management team, you will oversee a range of landlord and tenant management matters, including lease negotiations, rent reviews, lease renewals, as well as stewardship of council assets. Undertake valuation assessments and appraisals of various property types. Negotiate in respect of property disposals. Undertake lease renewals and rent reviews. Deal with queries with respect of council land and property ownership. Manage community asset transfers with community groups and members. Manage the sale of small pockets of land. You may have worked in the private sector, a different public sector organisation, or be returning to the industry following time out. With this in mind, in order to succeed in this role, you will need to meet the following criteria: Experience of estate management, including interpretation of legal documents, maps, and plans. Previous experience of lease renewals and rent negotiations. Previous experience of property acquisitions and disposals. Knowledge of case law and codes of practice for property. Be a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.
