Mechanical Design Engineer

Our client is seekingan experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with experience in the industry tojoin their expanding Edinburgh office. This company has a low staff turnoverrate and provides you with the opportunity to work on interesting, challenging,and high-end projects. Your new role In this role you will be responsible for all aspectsof design of mechanical engineering consultancy services for a portfolio ofprojects. You will be responsible for; undertaking calculations, production ofdrawings, producing specifications and reports, conducting site surveys,conducting construction stage duties, consulting with members ofdesign/construction teams and any other relevant duties required to comply withproject briefs. Producing and reviewing mechanical design drawingswill be key to your role. You should be capable of managing your own workload,reporting to your line manager with regular updates & working to timeallocations. Key responsibilities: Production and review of detailed design calculations for all aspects of mechanical design. Production of specifications and plant schedules. Production of design notes, basis of design and RIBA stage reports showing compliance with standards and best practice. Production of design drawings from conception through to detailed design. Conducting detailed site surveys and inspection of installations. Mentoring and guidance of junior to intermediate engineers. What you'll need to succeed You will have an accredited Building Services /Mechanical Engineering degree or higher educational qualification. Working towards chartership. Ability to manage and deliver mechanical building services engineering designs across a range of sectors. Experience working within a building services design team Conducting any or all stages of mechanical design from concept to completion as required by the project, and with the assistance and supervision of senior engineers. Experience in a range of digital tools including AutoCAD, Revit, IES, Hevacomp, MS Office, etc. Working knowledge of technical and legislation requirements for mechanical services Good communication and people skills Good report writing skills.
