Pre-Construction Manager (Mechanical)
Your new company A well-established and respected M&E Contractor with over 25 years of success is seeking a Mechanical Pre-Construction Manager to join their growing projects division. Known for delivering high-quality mechanical and electrical services across healthcare, education, commercial, heritage, residential, and hospitality sectors, they specialise in both new build and refurbishment projects throughout NI and the UK. Your new role As Mechanical Pre-Construction Manager, you will take the lead on mechanical design coordination and pre-construction planning across a range of projects. You'll work closely with clients, consultants, and internal teams to ensure mechanical designs are fully integrated, compliant, and cost-effective. Key Responsibilities: Attend client and design team meetings throughout project lifecycles Lead the management of mechanical design consultants on D&B projects Review and rationalise mechanical designs to align with specifications and improve value engineering Produce and manage technical submittals and ensure timely responses Develop and maintain information release schedules and submittal trackers Complete AutoCAD & 3D Revit drawings as necessary, including full coordination of mechanical services in accordance with the architectural and structural models. Support procurement of mechanical plant and specialist subcontractors Assist in planning and coordinating mechanical testing and commissioning phases What you'll need to succeed 3-4 years' experience as a Mechanical Engineer within a consultancy or contractor environment Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit Excellent time management and organisational skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Full UK Driving Licence What you'll get in return An exciting opportunity to join a leading M&E contractor on a permanent basis, working on high-value projects without the need for extensive travel. Building Safety Manager (Fire)
Position Overview We are looking for a knowledgeable and proactive Fire Building Safety Manager to lead fire safety management across our building portfolio. This critical role ensures fire-related risks are identified, addressed, and communicated effectively, while maintaining rigorous compliance with legal and industry standards. Key Responsibilities Fire Risk Assessments: Conduct and regularly update thorough fire risk assessments for all buildings under management. Compliance Oversight: Ensure full adherence to fire safety legislation and standards, including the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and the Building Safety Act 2022. Safety Planning: Develop, implement, and test fire evacuation plans, fire safety strategies, and emergency response protocols. Training & Awareness: Deliver fire safety training to staff, contractors, and tenants, promoting a culture of vigilance and preparedness. Inspection & Testing: Oversee regular inspection, maintenance, and testing of fire safety equipment (sprinklers, alarms, extinguishers, fire doors). Incident Management: Lead investigations into fire-related incidents and near-misses, documenting findings and implementing corrective actions. Stakeholder Collaboration: Liaise with the Fire and Rescue Service, building owners, facilities teams, and tenants to coordinate safety initiatives. Record Management: Maintain accurate records of safety audits, risk assessments, drills, and training activities. Qualifications Certification in Fire Safety Management (e.g. NEBOSH Fire Safety, CFPA-E diploma). Strong working knowledge of UK fire safety legislation and guidance (PAS 79, BS 9999, etc.). Experience conducting fire risk assessments and managing fire safety in large or complex buildings. Excellent communication skills and ability to lead safety initiatives. Preferred Attributes A meticulous eye for detail and risk mitigation. Calm and decisive under pressure. Strong leadership and team collaboration abilities.
