Electrical Engineer

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join a London County Council on a long-term (ongoing) contract basis. This is a hybrid role , involving work from home, visits to sites, and time spent at the council’s offices. Key Responsibilities: Conduct site surveys and inspections Prepare detailed reports and technical documentation Design and review electrical systems for a range of building types, including: Office buildings Listed and heritage properties Leisure centres and libraries Residential developments Requirements: Strong written and verbal communication skills – confident writing reports and leading meetings Proven experience in electrical design, specification writing, and contractor management. In-depth understanding of Building Regulations and relevant standards Professional membership (e.g., CIBSE or IET ) preferred Familiarity with JCT contracts and AutoCAD is an advantage This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to meaningful public sector projects while enjoying the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement. As a Senior Electrical Engineer you will focus on Operational MEP Building Engineering. The role complements the core design business and enables our client to provide an integrated professional consultancy. The key focus of the Senior Electrical Engineer is to advise their clients (Investors, Landlords, Property Agents, Building Managers, occupiers) that their buildings are operating as effectively as they can be from an MEP perspective. You will investigate and advise of the best areas to invest to gain the maximum value from their buildings. The role: The Senior Electrical Engineer you will deliver a combination of services including: Plant Renewal, Replacement and Refurbishment, Surveys and Technical advice. Providing technical advice to clients on engineering systems, legislation compliance and how to undertake forward planning and refurbishment, management of change and the maximisation of the total asset value. About you: You will be client facing, developing and producing reports and be able to offer guidance on MEP Operational Engineering matters across a range of sectors. Ideally you will have a relevant degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent qualification. However most importantly you will be confident in your experience to date and be able to work autonomously following some initial guidance on procedures. Team-based work approach and an appreciation of holistic working. Excellent communication skills with both internal and external clients. You will understand the significance of complementary specialisms such as acoustics, fire engineering and computer modelling in the design of buildings and comprehend their impact on your work. Senior Mechanical Engineer

Senior Mechanical Engineer - To £58K + Package This thriving employee owned building services consultancy based in Cambridge, are looking for a Senior Mechanical (HVAC / Building Services) Design Engineer. Working closely with the founding Directors, you will develop energy efficient HVAC design from concept to construction and take a lead role on a number of major projects. Current projects include complex new build laboratories, student accommodation towers, industrial buidlings and commercial refurbishment projects. In addition to developing HVAC designs, detailed calculations, co-ordinating MEP services, leading client and design team meetings, you will also carry out an overseeing role as you provide QA on less experienced Engineers work.
