Water Services & Public Health Courses

Public health engineering has a broad scope and water management is becoming increasingly important in our current climate. Courses include Introduction to Legionella Control, Sanitary and Rainwater Design Using BS EN 12056:2000, and Building Drainage Explained.

Above Ground Building Drainage

Days: 1
CPD hours: 7

An introduction to above ground building drainage principles. Attendees will be able to identify the different types of above ground systems, understand how they interact and calculate discharge capacities using BS EN 12056.  Attendees will also consider how fire safety and acoustic issues affecting multi-occupancy buildings and maintenance access within a design.

Below Ground Building Drainage

Days: 1
CPD hours: 7

An introduction to below ground building drainage systems, explaining practical applications. Designed primarily for professionals with limited experience of this subject.

Sanitary and Rainwater Design using BS EN 12056:2000

Days: 1
CPD hours: 7

This course focuses on application of BS EN 12056 for the design of above ground gravity drainage systems, including reference to Approved Document H. Example calculations to solve realistic design scenarios will also be included.

Designing Water Efficient Hot and Cold Supplies

Days: 1
CPD hours: 7

Over the last decade water efficiency has become mandatory, BS 6700 has been replaced, and there have been significant technological changes affecting the design of water supply systems in commercial and residential buildings. This course provides guidance on the essential design considerations for water and energy efficient systems.

Variable Flow Water Systems Design

Days: 1
CPD hours: 7

This one-day course will provide you with an understanding to the different approaches to designing variable flow water systems in order to achieve the best possible outcome.

In-House Only Courses

HSE Guidance on Legionella Control

Days: 1
CPD hours: 7

In-house only (min 6 delegates) at your site
For a quote email training@cibse.org

This course gives an excellent overview of L8 (2001) ACOP and the HSE initiative for a Code of Conduct for service providers. It is designed for delegates with a basic knowledge of earlier guidance on Legionellosis.

Legionella Control: Role of the Responsible Person

Days: 1
CPD hours: 7

In-house only (min 6 delegates) at your site
For a quote email training@cibse.org

This course acts as an accompaniment to HSE Guidance to Legionella Control and takes delegates into further detail of the role of the Responsible Person, including a step by step framework to help ensure the legal requirements of this position are fulfilled.

In-house training at your site

Training multiple staff at once provides the opportunity for your organisation to have a training package crafted to your specific needs. In-house training can help your organisation overcome challenges and fill the skills gaps in your workforce. Courses run on a minimum number of six staff*.

For an In-house quote please email the following information to training@cibse.org:

  1. Name of course
  2. Approximate number of staff
  3. Your site address

*Minimum numbers for In-house courses outside of the UK may vary
