Water Services & Public Health Courses

Public health engineering has a broad scope and water management is becoming increasingly important in our current climate. Courses include Introduction to Legionella Control, Sanitary and Rainwater Design Using BS EN 12056:2000, and Building Drainage Explained.

Above Ground Building Drainage

Learning formats available:

Online Live | Days: 1 | CPD hours: 6

This course is suitable for Engineers from other disciplines that need to understand the principles of operation of a drainage system. People who want to learn about the variations of design that are possible with modern above ground drainage systems.

Below Ground Building Drainage

Learning formats available:

Online Live | Days: 1 | CPD hours: 6

This course is designed for people with limited knowledge of below ground drainage systems who require a general overview of the whole subject covering the features that may be encountered in a typical building drainage scheme.

Designing Water Efficient Hot and Cold Supplies

Learning formats available:

Online Live | Days: 1 | CPD hours: 6

This course would benefit engineers who have little experience of designing domestic hot and cold water services, and would equally suit those already engaged in this subject who feel they need an update on the latest legislation, Standards and technology.

Fundamentals of Drainage

Learning formats available:

Online Live | Days: 1 | CPD hours: 6

People who need to include aspects of drainage in their designs, specifications, or contracts. Supervisors, planners, architects, local authorities, builders, inspectors, manufacturers, site engineers, environmentalists.

Design of Heating and Chilled Water Pipe Systems

Live Online | Days: 1 | CPD hours: 6

This course uses the BSRIA BG 30 Design Workflow for Water Distribution Systems as a framework for investigating hydronic systems, with a particular focus on correctly sizing pipework and pumps. The theory will see us go on a journey from the 1700s and Newtonian physics, through to the present day and the unanswered questions of fluid flow. Attendees will leave with a practical understanding how to correctly design and commission the major components of a hydronic system. They will build a basic calculator to assist with pipe-sizing decisions.
