What can building services professionals do to help achieve emission targets set within the Paris Climate Change agreement? Do you have the answer?
If so, students, graduates and young engineers now is the time to make your mark!
The 2019 Awards are open for entries in three categories:
· Student of the Year
· Graduate of the Year
· Young Engineer of the Year
“The award from CIBSE was a wonderful opportunity for building personal brand – something I have always been the best at. My company NDY was incredibly supportive, sharing my success in both internal and external publications, as well as the recognition through CIBSE. All of this aided in developing my credibility, which I am very grateful for as a young building services professional.”
– Melanie Finch, 2018 Graduate of the Year
Australia's commitment to the 2015 Paris Climate agreement is to achieve a 26-28% reduction in emissions over 2005 levels by 2030, whilst New Zealand's commitment is to achieve 30%. Reductions in energy demand indicate the fewest trade-offs and largest synergies with meeting ongoing global Sustainable Development Goals.
We are asking you to tell us in short video "What do you believe are the most novel, scalable and implementable ideas that could be applied to building services in Australia or New Zealand” to contribute to achieving these emission targets.
“Building services engineering is one of the oldest engineering professions. Technology is reshaping the way we design and eventually, it will disrupt the way we think of buildings. To get there, it needs fresh talents to rethink and help deliver the next generation of buildings.”
– Baoying Tong, 2018 Young Engineer of the Year
