We are pleased to announce that CIBSE UAE held its Annual General Meeting on June 10th, 2024, at the Zumtobel Dubai office in Al Quoz. This year, we welcomed several new members to our committee and expanded our specialist interest groups.
Mohd Imran Shaikh from Ramboll and Marc Lynch from Cundall continued their roles as Chair and Vice Chair for the second year. Yasser Ali Khan from WSP has taken on the role of Treasurer, and Manjunath Naik from Buro Happold is our Social Secretary. Isaac and Giovani retained their positions as Chairs of the Technical Committee and SoPHE, respectively.
The event also marked significant expansions within our specialist interest groups. Abdullah from Alemco assumed the Chair position for the CIBSE Energy Performance Group, and Vladan Hasecic from Mirage took the Chair position for the CIBSE Intelligent Building Group. Additionally, we launched the SLL Group, with Chris Carr and Neethu becoming the SLL Regional Representatives.
WIBSE received its new Chair Sadika Kebbi and we also saw the formation of the Fellow Group to provide mentorship in the region to be led by Farah Naz from AECOM
In his address, Imran emphasized our platform's potential to build on the successes of 2023, focusing on pioneering net zero initiatives and achieving technical excellence. Our aim is to position CIBSE UAE as a driving force for innovation, sustainability, and excellence in the built environment industry.
We strive to foster a collaborative ecosystem that empowers professionals, advances knowledge, and propels our industry to new heights.
