In 2019, Tommy Sailing was an Electrical and ICT Engineer at Northrop. After winning the 2019 Young Engineer of the Year, he went on to be a team manager and now leads the ICT discipline at JHA. Tommy is a recognised leading expert in his field and an Electrical Services trainer for CIBSE.
2020 Young Engineer of the Year, Prateek Alkesh, worked his way up the ranks at AECOM from Mechanical Engineer to Project Manager. He became CIBSE ANZ YEN chair in 2021 and is currently completing an MBA in France.
In 2020, Student of the Year, Bipin Tom Thomas was completing a graduate diploma in Building Services Engineering at WelTec in Wellington. He is now a senior mechanical engineer at 2PiR Consulting, and a member of the CIBSE NZ committee representing CIBSE in student outreach engagement and organising technical events in the region.
Sudham Perera was a finalist for Graduate of the Year in 2021, working as a Project Engineer at ECS. This year he has gone on become CIBSE NSW Young Engineers Network (YEN) Vice Chair and has a role at Arup as an Electrical Engineer.
2022 Young Engineer of the Year finalist, Siti Mustaffa from DeltaQ is leading the way for women and diversity within the industry recently appointed as the Vice President of the National Association of Women in Construction and sitting on their Diversity and Inclusion National Portfolio Committee.
These young engineers have already achieved great success and have set a course for future entrants.
