CIBSE Inclusivity Panel seeks Chair and new members

CIBSE has recently agreed the formation of a new Inclusivity panel, the aim of which is to advise and engage with the Board on all matters relating to equality, diversity and inclusivity and to ensure that our obligations under the Diversity in Engineering Concordat are met in full. The panel will consider both the needs and cultures of UK and International membership, and will work in partnership with related external organisations as necessary.
The Panel is to be made up of 10 members, plus up to three co-opted members with specialist expertise. The Panel will normally meet three times a year at CIBSE’s offices in Balham, London (online meeting connection will be available for those physically unable to attend) with some members required to undertake ad hoc activities outside of this time.
We are seeking both new members and a panel Chair. To be considered specifically for the role of Chair, applicants should have an interest and demonstrable experience in promoting inclusivity, preferably with a corporate context. You will also need to be a corporate member of CIBSE, and this three-year appointment will be approved by the CIBSE Board. Applicants may also be required to attend a discussion with selected members of the Board and with representatives of our Membership department.

All positions are voluntary and no salary or fee will be paid. Reasonable travel expenses will be paid to cover attendance at meetings.
If you are interested in being considered please email a brief CV and details of why you are interested in taking up this position to Carilyn Burman, Director of Membership before 6th April 2017.
