Fire Sprinkler Systems: Design to BS EN 12845

This course discusses sprinkler system issues like components, hazard classification, design requirements, water supplies, piping layout and sizing etc. It covers the sprinkler rules incorporating BS EN 12845.





Emergency Lighting to Comply with Fire Safety BAFE SP203 P4

Dates: 7 July - London

The course covers use of current standards to demonstrate compliance with fire safety legislation. It describes design techniques, installation procedures and testing requirements. Details are given of the guidance now provided in BS 5266-10, to assist engineers to produce appropriate systems that can demonstrate compliance with the Fire Safety Order covering emergency lighting, not only for evacuation but to safeguard occupants who have to perform safety related duties in a lighting supply failure.

To assure participants are appropriately trained in line with BAFE Scheme SP203 Part 4, the course includes a short quetionnaire at the end of each of the 4 sections, ensuring delegates are assessed as a competent person to BAFE SP203 standard to carry out works in this area.

Code of Practice for Fire Safety in the Design, Management and Use of Buildings: BS 9999

This 1 day course takes delegates through BS 9999, concentrating primarily on the use of the code in design of means of escape from fire. It includes a short practical exercise and comparison of results with traditional codes.

PAS 79 is now virtually the industry standard for carrying out fire risk assessments. The latest revision was published in 2012, and gives more detailed guidance on assessing buildings that do not meet current benchmark standards. This course reviews the PAS and considers the issue of competence of risk assessors.
